The Broward Heart Association held their 2016 Heart Ball Kick-Off Reception on March 16th, 2016 at the residence of Mike Linder and Kristi Klotz. Many familiar faces of the Broward community were in attendance including Dr. Frank & Candice Scholl, Jonathan DeLuca, Anthony Marcello, Carlos Castaneda, Susan Penrod, Sara Engelskirger and Michael & Mary Lepera. Catering for the event was provided by Linder’s very own Silver Lining. They brought out a new menu spear-headed by Chef Ulysses Gonzalez specifically for this tremendous cause which consisted of Za’atar Rubbed Chop of Lamb, fresh Charcuterie platters, Green Apple & Coconut Gazpacho, Tuna Tartare in a Taro Root Shell, Kimchee Spring Roll, Black Paella Arancini , Ratatouille on Panisse and Braised Short Rib with Black Oaxacan Molé.
The event’s purpose is to bring the major contributors together to get geared up for the main event: the Heart Ball to be held in May at the Ritz-Carlton in Fort Lauderdale. Since the start of the American Heart Association, a total of $3.7 billion has been funded for heart disease and stroke research.
